Salary ranging from $89,707 to $98,982pa. Plus employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
The Courts Coordinator is responsible for ensuring proper use of available Courts, Facilities and judicial officers at the Downing Centre Local Court regarding efficient and cost-effective disposal of cases to improve client service.
What you’ll do
Coordinate rostering, allocation of defended hearings and operation of list courts at the Downing Centre Local Court to support the efficient running of the courts, including coordinating listings in relation to any applications by parties to re-list or vacate dates as required.
You’ll prepare and publish the daily breakup under the direction of the Chief Magistrate and Deputy Chief Magistrate for the sitting of the Downing Centre Local Court.
Perform allocation of hearing time, defended matters, civil and criminal during court sitting times and movement of cases and judicial officers to various courts.
Provide high quality customer service to members of the legal profession, the public and other government departments to maintain the professional reputation of the Chief Magistrate’s Office.
You will also answer inquiries from judicial officers, the legal profession and the public to support the efficient operation of the Chief Magistrate’s Office.
What we’re looking for
Extensive knowledge of Court procedures, including relevant legislation and practice notes and guidelines combined with knowledge of listing and rostering procedures within the Courts.
