Job Description Summary
Responsible for accounting, financial planning and analysis at Korea concentrate plant. Finance Manager is a key member of the plant leadership team who delivers financial fundamental and the business commitment such as CPS metrics, productivity index and reasonable RS cost to OU. This position also plays a key role in CPS Korea who collaborates with other functions to eventually create value through productivity initiatives. This position also ensures financial compliance required by local regulations and company policy.
Business Partnership and Leadership
- Participate as key business leader within plant management team
- Provide value-added, commercially focused CPS finance perspective to all significant business decisions
- Coach plant management team to improve understanding of plant financials, legal entity finance issues, and promote understanding of financial aspects of plant operational issues
- Participate in and drive improvements in supply chain processes including S&OP, MRB, etc.
- Provide leadership to productivity initiatives and lead the process for capturing and monitoring CPS metrics
- Lead projects to reduce total supply chain cost / create value, influencing all stakeholders to ensure savings can be delivered
- Build and grow value added relationship with OU Finance team & CPS global Finance team.
- Lead monthly plant review meeting and take financial part of CPS metrics dashboard, financial P&L and other financial issues
- Coordinate plant wide functions to generate new ideas, productive pipeline and update value creation performance and maintain data in project tracker tool
- Gather opinion from plant Function Mgrs for improvement of the processes
Manage Plant Finance
- Ensure all financial accounting for plant is completed to CPS / Corporate requirements and deadlines
- Ensure monthly rolling estimate submitted following CPS guidelines and deadlines and prepare monthly Rolling Estimate report and work thru related company tool such as Power BI, PPV tool, Hyperion, EPM, etc
- Ensure value added analysis and narratives and completed for all major variances, with issues are followed up and resolved
- Control budgeted costs
- Proactively identify and transparently communicate Risks and Opportunities; drive initiatives to capture Opportunities / mitigate Risks and grow productivity
- Lead regular routine to share financial results with plant management team and drive corrective measures when necessary
- Manage Capex, ensuring financial analysis completed on all major projects to ensure optimal investment decisions
Manage Annual Planning process
- Manage Region Standards process and BP P&L process, ensuring all deadlines met with quality analysis and commentary
- Manage timetable and communicate to plant management / planning / procurement staff
- Work with plant GM / plant management team to ensure key inputs are prepared and approved within CPS guidelines / deadlines. Submit OPEX report for summarizing all OPEX related information and prepare presentation for OPEX approval
- Prepare detailed analysis to assist communication with Japan & Korea OU
- Coordinate with procurement team for reasonable ingredient cost and inbound cost
- Prepare OPEX budget with coordination of Plant GM and other function leaders
- Generate RS cost with utilization of company tool – IPA, Power BI and coordination with procurement
- Prepare OU communication meeting material for RS information sharing with OU
- Prepare Financial BP scheduled on Oct, Nov, Final Feb and submit updated KPI reporting and P&L forecast
Costing and Revenue Management
- Ensure standard costs for new products delivered within required project timelines
- Ensure controls in place to deliver 100% accurate pricing for all sales to customers, with no shipments of products without approved pricing letters
- Ensure all transactions recorded correctly in OU profit centers
- Provide value added revenue, freight and COGS information to OU as needed
- Ensure all transactions posted to OU profit centers adequately supported and accurately recorded
Financial Analysis and Routines
- Provide financial analysis as required
- Support plant GM as required
- Support CPS Atlanta finance projects as required
- Manage PO Process from PR to IR within CPS Korea and affiliate balance management with coordination of RFC IC accountant
- GR/IR, Cogs, freight, other cost clearing check with coordination of RFC finance
- Manage fixed asset transaction record with coordination of global fixed asset team
- Various month end closing JV and adjustment entry review before posting
- Inventory Provision review thru MRB meeting and coordination with OU finance & SC team
Manage Internal Controls
- Ensure CPS Korea meets all CAD requirements
- Ensure compliance with company policies and CPS DOA in all respects
- Lead a culture of control in plant management team
- Deliver CPS goal of “no high risks, no repeats” during internal audits
- Support financially annual CAPEX approval process by providing financial justification and RFA process and support financially CAPEX implementation thru various budget shifting in accordance with guideline and Quarterly CAPEX reporting coordinate with Engineering team
- Participate in OU finance leadership meeting to update news and work with OU finance for co-issue: ex) issues with customs office
- Control and review for Open PO in the process of PO, GR-IR clearing, invoicing and take action to the violation report from RFC
- Ensure All transactions control under LCOA / SOX - CAD requirements for internal controls and training control regulation to related person within the plant
- Prepare and update SOX narratives & LCOA when required
- Review process of cycle count, air freight, inventory write off and keep related document for CAD and internal control
- Quarterly SEC letter and impairment survey review with plant GM/ legal counsel or Engineering manager
Qualifications
- University Degree, accounting qualifications preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in a commercial environment with manufacturing accounting
- Knowledge of finance accounting, cost & manufacturing accounting
- Able to interact internally and externally - Work with Plant Leadership to achieve KPI; Collaborate with CPS Atlanta Finance and OU
- Experience of SAP ERP system – Costing or Advanced knowledge
- Experience of budget, planning and reporting
- Experience of team management and working with cross function teams
- Understanding of customs on ingredients imports
- Understanding of manufacturing operation, inventory management and controls
- Understanding of supply chain process international trading, logistics, procurement
- Knowledge of KGAAP and USGAAP
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word
- Korean and English - fluent in both written and verbal communication
